Prison sentence issued by the Criminal Court on former Defence Minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim has been appealed at the High Court.
Nazim’s legal team said that the case was appealed without the summarized report of the verdict of the Criminal Court.
At the time of the applying the appeal, the legal team stated that the Criminal Court informed them that they will be provided with the summarized report within one hour.
The legal team added that there will be many difficulties because they had to appeal the case without the report. They said that they hope that they will be given the opportunity to amend and correct what is necessary when they get the report.
Miadhu Daily understands that the legal team applied for the appeal of the case at the High Court without the report because of the possibility of loosing the opportunity for appeal if they do not apply for appeal before 00 hours.
