A fire has broke out at a worksite at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport this morning.
Maldives Airports Company Ltd. media official said the fire incident occurred at a Chinese company’s worksite this morning. The official said the incident was not too dangerous.
Though some media reports claimed the fire incident occurred on the runway of the airport، the media official refuted the claims. The official added that the fire occurred at a pipe of a vehicle use for asphalting، and was put out immediately.
The vehicle was reportedly damaged in the fire.
The worksite belongs to a Chinese company، currently doing the tarmac and asphalt works in the airport development project.
