Maldives government Monday celebrated its third year with a mass gathering attended by thousands of state officials and civil servants.
Housing ministry estimated that over 12,000 people attended the colourful ceremony graced by president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, first lady Fathimath Ibrahim along with cabinet ministers, senior state officials and government lawmakers.
During the ceremony, the administration's key achievements, and milestones in socio-economic and urban development, were highlighted.
The third anniversary celebrations are set to continue with a series of events including a music show which is slated for Tuesday evening.
