President: Trust with China is guaranteed to continue
President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has said that he is sure of the respect, trust and the support to given by one country to another with China will continue in the future. The President said this in his meeting with the Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr. Chen Ziaoguang at the President’s Office. The President’s Office said that CPPCC is a political consultation institution in China. In his meeting with the Vice Chairman of CPPCC, President Abdulla Yamin said that China and Maldives are showing a fine example of beneficial cooperation between small and big countries. The President and the CPPCC Vice Chairman widely discussed the priorities of the two countries in the meeting today. And so noting the major role of Chinese tourists in the development of the Maldivian tourism sector, the President said that he hopes that the Maldives continue to hold fame among Chinese tourists. The President said that he hopes that the 43 –year-old relationship between China and the Maldives would continue to prosper. Highlighting that China is one of the biggest donors of aid in numerous fields to the Maldives, President Yamin said that the relationship between China and Maldives have grown since the Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the Maldives last year. The Vice Chairman of CPPCC Chen Ziaoguang said that the Chinese relationship with Maldives is stronger than ever before. And he assured that China would always be assisting the Maldives in every way and would respect the people of Maldives. President of the Parliament MP Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed and Ahmed Mohamed along with the undersecretary of the President’s Office, Mohamed Naseeh, Consulate General of the Parliament, Fathimath Fazla took part in the meeting.
