It was the chairman’s decision to provide 4G coverage to all islands - an expensive gift to Maldives by Ooredoo

CEO of Ooredoo Vikram Singh have said that it was a personal decision of the chairman of Ooredoo Group Sheikh Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Saud Al-Thaani to provide 4G coverage to all islands of Maldives. He said that today marks the conclusion of implementing the whole project.
In a ceremony held at Hotel Jen to mark this, Vikram Singh said that the chairman believes that services like 4g+ should be provided to small populations first.
He said that, this task was implemented within a short period because teams of Ooredoo worked really hard. “Our teams visited all islands and tourist resorts” said the CEO.
Vikram Singh said that this is not the end of the project, but the beginning. He said that from now on they will start to perfect the service and see that if speed is slow in any islands. “That might take a month or two” said Vikram Singh.
Vikram Singh praised and thanked the teams who were involved in implementing the project. “Providing this service to all the islands and resorts within 18 months is a huge task. Hence, this is a very expensive gift given to Maldivians by the staffs of Ooredoo” said Vikram.
Vikram Singh also thanked the government and the people for their cooperation during the project. “We got support from all the islands. We thank everyone for that” said Vikram.
“Ooredoo was the first to provide 3g services to all islands of Maldives. It is the same with 4g as well. This is a huge achievement for Ooredoo. Today we can proudly say that all islands of Maldives gets 4g coverage” said Vikram.
Certificates of recognition were given to all teams who actively took part in implementing this project during today’s ceremony.
