The case of awarding Addu City “Hankede” to an entity to develop a luxury hotel by ex-President Nasheed’s government will be solved this year، said Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb.
After opening the campaign office Addy City Feydhoo، Adeeb said that although the work begun by the Government of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) had been halted for sometime، it will be resumed by the incumbent government.
The Hankede project was awarded to an entity by the MDP Government to develop a luxurious hotel، however، the entity failed to undertake any work at the island.
Reiterating that a resort will be developed in Addu City “Ismehelaaherai”، Minister Adeeb said that the incumbent Government will prove it’s works in results.
He further said with the developments of Laamu atoll Thunburi and Addu City “Ismehelaaherai”، numerous job opportunities will be created.
