Velana International Airport states it served eight million passengers in 2025.
According to statistics publicized by VIA on Thursday, the airport served 8.28 million passengers in 2025: 5.38 million international passengers, 1.17 million domestic passengers and 1.79 million seaplane passengers.
The airport recorded 294,214 air traffic movements during the year, marking an eight percent increase compared to last year. They include 34,868 international movements, 28,348 domestic movements and 185,998 seaplane movements.

The airport produced the highest daily passenger throughput for wheel-based aircrafts on December 28th at 27,381 passengers and the highest daily passenger throughput for seaplanes on February 16th at 7,439 passengers.
Notably, the new passenger terminal at VIA was inaugurated in July 26th. The seaplane checking area at the new terminal was operationalized on January 11th.
