President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the National Award of Honour on three individuals, and the National Award of Recognition on nine individuals and one company. The awards were presented at the official ceremony held in Utheemu, North Thiladhunmathi Atoll, to celebrate this year’s National Day.
One of the three recipients of the National Award of Honour was recognised posthumously.
National Award of Honour was conferred upon:
Sh. Ismail Mohamed – for raising awareness of Islam, service to faith, and religious education.
Mohamed Mauroof Jameel – for contributions to construction and architecture.
Late Mohamed Majid – for his work as a performing artist.
National Award of Recognition was conferred upon:
Husna Fahmy – for steadfast dedication to the advancement of the Dhivehi language and literature through publishing and writing.
Izzath Ahmed Nizar – for continued efforts and dedication to the advancement of Dhivehi poetry.
Abdul Azeez Hameed – for exceptional service and tireless efforts in advancing healthcare and raising public awareness.
Amira Sulaiman – for outstanding service in the healthcare sector, fostering the development and practice of local and traditional medicine.
Fathimath Ibrahim – for outstanding dedication to the welfare of children and adults with disabilities and special needs.
Ahmed Waheed Ali – for exemplary dedication to community engagement, empowerment, and mobilisation.
Ooredoo Maldives Public Limited Company – for dedicated efforts in fostering and expanding trade and commerce, particularly in the telecommunications industry.
Aleemuddeen – for steadfast commitment and multifaceted contributions through a wide range of productive endeavours and enterprises.
Mohamed Jailam – for outstanding service and innovation in developing computer software and applications.
Zahiyya Mohamed – for unwavering dedication and trailblazing service in a field traditionally underrepresented by women.
