Ooredoo has announced that this month users will be able to chat with "Santhi Mariyanbu" through the chatbot launched in connection with this year's calendar.
The calendar launched by Ooredoo for this year, titled "Future Meets Nostalgia," features characters from Maldivian folklore.
Each month of the calendar is dedicated to a specific character. By scanning the QR code in the calendar or using NFC on a phone, users can access a link that allows them to chat with the character featured for that month.
Ooredoo has selected a different special character for each month. While a total of 12 characters will be available for chat throughout the year, a new character will be unlocked each month.
Characters can only be chatted with after they are unlocked. This month's unlocked character, Santhi Mariyanbu, joins previously unlocked characters Foolhudhigu Handi and Safarukaiydha, bringing the current total available characters to three. Users will have the opportunity to ask various questions and learn different information related to these characters.
Ooredoo stated that each character's chatbot will display traits relevant to that specific character. The chatbot supports both Dhivehi and English languages.
Ooredoo said they introduced this folklore-themed calendar to pass these stories on to the next generation and to increase young people's interest in various Maldivian folk tales.
Ooredoo continues to release calendars each year that incorporate various information and aspects related to Maldives, utilizing the latest technologies.
