Over 85% of BML customers use internet banking

Bank of Maldives (BML) has claimed over 85% from the entire customer-base uses the bank’s internet banking options.
BML’s public relations manager Mr Mohamed Saeed confirmed the development.

As per Mr Saeed the bank’s customer base using internet banking option has improved significantly amid Covid-19 pandemic, which has resulted in a lockdown in the Greater Male’ Region.
According to Mr Saeed a total of 87% of BML’s customer base, or 285,000 customers have subscribed for the bank’s online banking options.
Moreover, he further confirmed 90% of the bank’s transactions were carried out through online platforms.

Furthermore, BML will remain consistent with their online services post lockdown.
Meanwhile, BML has issued MVR145.7 million and USD2.5 million to a total of 125 debtors as part of the state announced Economic Recovery Package.
