Health Minister Abdullah Naazim have said that the health sector of Maldives has been assessed at an international standard and that the government will improve the areas that needs improvement.
He made this statement today while speaking at a meeting held by WHO representatives who visited Maldives to assess how much Maldives has implemented the resolutions passed by WHO in 2005. Naazim said that the teams researched in 19 different areas for three months and that the result is good. He said that the government will follow the recommendations made by the team.
He said that even now Maldives has taken action to prevent diseases that might spread due to migratory birds, and people who migrate. Naazim said that the team has accepted the steps taken by the government.
In addition, he said that the government is taking necessary actions to prevent outbreak of diseases. Hence, several programs like vaccination programs are being conducted by the government. He said that the government will continue to take action to keep people safe from diseases.
