Hearings in the appeal case of Civil Court order to handover PPM administration to PPM’s Chief Advisor has ended.
Abbas Waafir of S.Hulhudhoo appealed the case at the High Court, requesting to annul the Civil Court ruling.
President Maumoon also intervened in the case. Yumna Maumoon, spoke on behalf of her father saying that, she requests the judges to release a just verdict.
In the hearing today, Maumoon’s lawyer Ahmed Muizz said that PPM council meetings are being held according to the party by laws and that a compliant was also made only once regarding the council meetings.
Husnu Suood, who is also on the legal team of Maumoon said that Abbas Waafir who appealed the case is actually close with MP Shiyaam and MP Shaahid who filed the case at the civil court. However, Justice Abdullah Didi told Suood that he cannot bring that up in court.
Lawyer of MP Shiyaam and MP Shaahid, Abdullah Muizz said that High Court should carefully verify if rights of anyone is being violated and that they should correct it.
The Chief Judge of High Court, Abdullah Didi said that if there is nothing else to be cleared, they will reach a verdict on the next session.
