The ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives’ head، and the former President of Maldives، Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has expressed that he has confidence in his brother، President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom، in solving the case of explosion aboard presidential speedboat ‘Finifenma’ on 28 September.
In a tweet posted last night، former president Maumoon said that he has been briefed on the case thoroughly، and extended gratitude to the president.
Maumoon said that the ruling PPM will be steadfast in the support it has been extending to President Abdulla Yameen and to the Government.
Furthermore، former president expressed confidence in the President، that he will solve this case and bring stability in the country.
September 28th dawned with the explosion aboard the presidential speedboat ‘Finifenma’. Although President escaped unharmed، First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim، president’s secretary Fathmath Mohamed Solih and president’s bodyguard Mohamed Nasir suffered injuries.
The matter is under investigation by the local authorities، with assistance from FBI، India، Sri Lanka، Australia and Saudi Arabia.
