The lawyers of Nasheed have requested Home Minister Umar Naseer to arrange for an MRI scan for the Former President Mohamed Nasheed who is serving 13 years of jail sentece due to proven terrorism charges.
Hassan Latheef، a lawyer of President Nasheed’ defense attorneys team، has signed and sent a letter to Home Minister Umar requesting for an MRI scan and stated that the MRI scan has been prescribed by the doctor in Maafushi Prison when President Nasheed consulted the doctor on 7th May.
The letter further states that President Nasheed has suffered severe injuries while he was brought to court on February 23rd and stated that the injuries were left unattended after several requests for treatment.
The requests for the MRI has been continuously requested by the lawyers team and as well the family، however، the request was not accepted، the letter stated.
