High Court's Ruling Stands In Risheef's Case

Risheef Thoha
The Supreme Court has ruled that High Court’s ruling to reinstate Risheef Thoha as the Chief Inspector of Police، after he was convicted of ordering the rape of a girl and subsequently had his employment terminated، will stand.
The ruling said that the girl’s testimony did not point to Risheef ordering 2 officers to rape the girl. Moreover، in spite of Risheef admitting to have called the officers at the time described by the girl، the ruling said that there were no phone call recordings that show that Risheef had ordered them to commit the crime.
Furthermore، it said that the High Court’s ruling on the matter is valid، and that it will stand.
Police has previously said on this matter that officers whose employments have been terminated in such a way will not be reinstated until all proceedings are complete.
