State Minister of Education، Adam Shareef Ahmed has said that teachers can be empowered by advancing them educationally.
State Minister said so in the special speech he delivered on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
Nothing that this year’s theme for Teachers’ Day is “Empowering teachers for a sustainable society”، Adam Shareef said that empowering teachers is only possible by educationally advancing them and advised teachers to make use of the opportunities of higher studies opened for them by the government.
In addition to this، noting that this academic year began with the introduction of the new curriculum، he said that the curriculum introduced after a lot of days of discussions has been compiled to build a student completely prepared for the challenges of the 21st century.
He said that the methods of teaching should be changed to fully implement the new curriculum and that is is important for teachers to become aware of these changes.
State Minister Ahmed Shareef noted the work done by His Excellency President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom، Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor and Minister of education، Dr. Aishath Shiham to develop the education system of Maldives and thanked them for it.
