Police have started investigating the alleged case of the involvement of Police officers in chopping down palm trees.
The alleged case was also presented to the Police Integrity Commission، who started their investigation as well.
On Wednesday، Police Media Official informed that the Police Professional Standard Command has started the investigation of the allegations against the Police، which taints the name and integrity of the Police.
Alleging that palm trees were chopped by officers of Special Operations (SO) Unit of Police، MDP has presented the case to Parliament’s 241 Committee، on Tuesday.
The palm trees planted on the sidewalks of Majeedhee Magu during Nasheed’s administration were chopped down by officers of Police، President Nasheed alleged during the last MDP special gathering at Alimas Carnival on Saturday. He also revealed detailed investigative report stating names، unit and ID numbers of officers، during a press conference at Male’ City Council Secretariat on Tuesday.
