Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened a community park in Hdh. Nellaidhoo funded by the bank’s community fund.
This is the first project completed under the bank’s “Aharenge Bank Community Fund” for quarter 1 of 2019. In February 2019, BML launched the community fund to help individuals contribute to their communities through sustainable projects. The bank will fund MVR50,000 for five projects every quarter.
“Today we celebrate the opening to Haa Dhaalu Nellaidhoo Community Park – a natural space that will bring the community together in the spirit of recreation and relaxation” Bank of Maldives stated in a Facebook post yesterday.
“This is the first in a series of community-led initiatives supported by the #AharengeBank community fund. It was a privilege for us to support Hamid Rasheed, the visionary behind the project and the amazing community of Nellaidhoo with their vision for their community” The post further said.
BML has invested MVR300 million last year to assist the development of projects throughout the Maldives.
