A man، who had sexually abused a seven year old girl on multiple occasions، has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Being found guilty، Ahmed Badry، 46، of “Daisymaage”، Gaaf Alif atoll Kanduhulhudhoo was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Magistrate Court of Gaaf Alif atoll Villingili.
Police stated that the case of Ahmed Badry sexually assaulting a minor was reported to Gaaf Alif atoll Gemanafushi Police Station on March 16.
Police further stated that following the report، Badry was arrested upon a court order. They stated the medical reports of the minor showed that she was sexually abused، and also، Badry had confessed his crime and disclosed all details to police during the investigation.
The case was sent to Prosecutor General’s Office on April 7، upon concluding the investigation، Police said.
The Magistrate Court of Villingili sentenced Badry to 10 years in prison during his hearing on Sunday.
