The President of Maldives، Abdulla Yaameen has urged to everyone to respect the sentence issued on Nasheed.
The urge was made in a statement issued by the President’s office.
The statement stated that the verdict imposed on Nasheed was accordingly with the Constitution of Maldives and the government will ensure that the rights of Nasheed is provided accordingly with the law.
The statement called upon the countries to contribute to consolidating and strengthening democratic values.
The statement also highlighted that the government will remain steadfast in ensuring the Constitution of Maldives is protected and maintaining the law in the country.
