Thousands of people have called the Prosecutor General to withdraw the charges against former President Mohamed Nasheed.
Many of the common people have called the authorities to withdraw the charges along with opposition leaders and also international organizations.
During the government of MDP, the opposition parties then, such as DRP and the now ruling party PPM called the MDP government to withdraw the charges against opposition politicians.
Up until now it is not known that the Prosecutor General has taken any measures against anyone who called the authorities to withdraw the charges against politicians calling the charges politically motivated.
Uninhabited islands and shallows are leased under a set regulation. They are not leased to attendees of a particular political party’s meeting.
In the last meeting of PPM, the Parliamentary Group leader Ahmed Nihan called to lease all uninhabited islands to all the youth attendees in the meeting.
Nihan did not make his remarks intending to cause undue influence on the tourism minister or the government.
