The July edition of the “Maaranga Market” has opened its doors on 2 July in Maafushi, Kaafu Atoll.
Organised by the Business Center Corporation (BCC), the Maafushi Council and Maafushi Local Authority Company Limited, the three‑day fair will run from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm each day, offering a vibrant showcase of locally produced goods, traditional food, handicrafts and a wide array of souvenirs.
Organisers highlight that the event is designed to give entrepreneurs and small businesses a regular platform to engage directly with customers and introduce their products to a broader audience. With a host of new vendors joining the July lineup, the variety of items on offer has expanded significantly, giving even more entrepreneurs the chance to advertise their businesses to both island residents and the steady flow of visitors from across the Maldives and overseas.
Located on one of the most developed islands in the country’s local tourism sector, Maafushi provides an ideal backdrop for the market, attracting tourists and holidaymakers eager to experience authentic Maldivian culture.
The gathering is expected to serve as a powerful impetus for the promotion of indigenous products, traditional cuisine and hand‑made crafts, reinforcing Maafushi’s reputation as a hub for local enterprise and cultural exchange.
