Number of Hafiz Graduates Expected to Double Next Year

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has announced that the number of Hafiz graduates in the Maldives is expected to double at next year’s graduation ceremony, scheduled for the 27th night of Ramadan.
In a social media update, Minister Shaheem noted that Quran memorization examinations are currently underway in three regions across the country.
According to statistics from the Ministry, 1,434 students are currently enrolled in Quran memorization programs across 20 Quran centers. This includes 783 female and 651 male students.
The National Center for the Holy Quran in Malé hosts the largest number of students, with 424 enrolled, followed by the Hulhumalé center with 155 students.
Minister Shaheem emphasized the government’s continued commitment to Quranic education, expressing optimism about the growing number of students pursuing full memorization of the Holy Quran.
