President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inspected ongoing work by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) to upgrade Sultan Park to modern standards.
During his visit to the park this afternoon, the President was briefed on the facilities being developed using the latest technology under MNDF supervision. He also assessed the progress of the physical works currently underway to transform the park.
The President further enquired about activities planned for the public this afternoon in the Sultan Park area as part of “Eid Haveeru 1447”, an event organised by the MNDF to mark Eid al-Fitr. He inspected final preparations for stalls set up in the area, as well as a newly established overhead obstacle course and shooting range within the park.
The redevelopment of Sultan Park, which had been neglected and had fallen into disrepair for years, was entrusted to the MNDF to ensure its reopening within a short timeframe, featuring modern facilities and integrated technology. Once completed, the area previously housing the “Winter Park” will also feature a dedicated e-gaming centre.
