The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has warned that adverse weather conditions are expected in central and northern Maldives.
In a weather forecast valid until 6:00 pm, the MET office predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms in these areas. Scattered rain is expected in southern atoll, with northwest and northern winds.
In other areas, winds of up to 8 mph to 18 mph are expected, with gusts up to 30 mph during showers. The seas will be moderately rough, and may become rough during showers.
