China-Maldives free trade talks successful, next is to complete administrative works: Economic Minister

Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed have stated that the last round of free trade talks between Maldives and China was successful and the next step is completing the administrative works.
The minister said that China accepted the proposals made by Maldives and starting from the first day of the agreement, Maldives will be able to export to China with 0 tariff. In return, Maldives will give privileges to Chinese products that are imported to Maldives.
In addition, he said that China was mainly interested in investments, and that he will announce the final agreements later. The minister said that, in two months’ government will start talks with two other countries to establish free trade agreements. He said that the government invited Japan, America, UK and EU to establish trade agreements with Maldives.
