President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Monday appointed Dr Mariyam Shahuneeza Naseer as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
Shahuneeza, born to Haa Alif atoll Dhidhdhoo island, will oversee IUM’s Research and Innovation department.
A doctoral graduate of Walden University of the United States, Shahuneeza joined IUM two years ago and served as a Curriculum Instructor, in charge of compiling and outlining the curriculum of the university’s courses.
She had also majored in that area.
