Civil Court has decided not to accept the case filed by former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom. Maumoon filed a law suit saying that the Civil Court decided to handover the administration of PPM to President Yameen unlawfully.
Civil Court said that Maumoon filed the case with a form that is assigned for administrative cases only and cases which involve an administrative division of the government can only be filed using these forms. Civil Court said that, hence PPM is not an administrative division of the state, they cannot accept the case.
The case was filed at Civil Court on 30th of October. Both High Court and Supreme Court upheld the decision made by the Civil Court to handover the administration of PPM to President Yameen. Hence Maumoon has exhausted all possible legal remedies available in Maldives for this case.
