Minister of Heath Irthisham Adam has stated that STO was a vital partner in the Government’s efforts to improve the health sector of the country.
She made the statement speaking in the signing ceremony of the MOU to supply furniture for various health centers in the Atolls.
Minister said that so far STO had spent MVR 149 million for the project, out of which most had gone to the purchase of machinery and equipment.
In addition to this, STO had contributed to the ambulance project in the islands. Minister Irthisham stated that so far STO had spent MVR 36 million for the purchase of 54 ambulances with an additional MVR 12 million per month for hospital consumables. STO had also spent MVR 120 million in opening pharmacies in every inhabited island in the country.
