Jaabir decides to quit Maldives Democratic Party

Former Kaashidoo constituency member Abdullah Jabir decides to revoke his membership from Maldives Democratic Party.
Jaabir had sent a letter addressed to MDP’s chairperson Ali Waheed، regarding his acquitting from the political party.
In his letter، Jaabir requested Ali Waheed to remove his membership from the party and to write his name off from MDP members list while stating the reason for his decision to quit from MDP is his own personal wish.
Jaabir first joined MDP، however he had left the political party following a brief fall out within the party. He then signed up in Jumhooree Party and ran for the seat of Kaashidhoo constituency under JP’s ticket، he won the MP elections and moved backed to MDP shortly after he won the seat.
However he faced failure during the most recent parliament elections in which he once again ran for the MP of Kaashidhoo.
Court had sentenced Jaabir to jail over his apprehension back in 2012 with alcoholic beverages in possession. He had refused to give his urine sample when Police officers had requested to do so.
