(Fuvahmulah): Funaadu Sports Club has won the last semi final match with 3 sets straight against Hoadhadu Spikers in the ongoing “Fuvahmulah Dhekunu Dhaaira Cup 2015”، securing a place in the finals of the tournament.
Although Funaadu was playing with the lead as soon as the first set began، a good performance was seen from both teams in this set. Though the teams played well، Hoadhadu was unable to bring out the best results، ending up with Funaadu winning the set with a large difference in scores of 25-13 points.
While the competitiveness increased in the second set compared to the first، both the teams were taking small leads over each other. However، Funaadu increased the lead difference and won the set with a score of 25-17 points.
Whereas a competitive play was seen from both the teams in the third set، Hoadhadu team played with the greatest lead. However، with a slight difference in scores of 26-24 points، Funaadu won this set as well.

Speaking to “Vaguthu Sports” after the match concluded، coach of Funaadu Sports Club، Ibrahim Rasheed (Satho) said that Hoadhadu gave a good fight in last night’s match and that Hoadhadu is a good team. However، tiredness was seen from that team since they had to play another match after the previous night’s match، and that Funaadu team took advantage of that. Satho said that the team will think about the final last night and if the performance goes according to the game plan، then the team will win the final match also with 3 sets straight.
Speaking about the match، coach of Hoadhadu Spikers، Mohamed Ahmed (Dheloo) said that the players were very tired as they had to set out for another match within less than 24 hours of concluding the previous match، and that some important players were in injury when they went for the match as well.
With the defeat from this match، Hoadhadu Spikers has been named the 3rd place team of this tournament.
While Funaadu Sports Club has travelled to the finals after winning this match، Funaadu will have to play against Miskiymagu Enmen Ge Gulhun in the final match، who went to the semi finals as the 1st place team of Group B، and reached the finals by defeating Funaadu Sports Club in the first match of semi finals.
The final match of this tournament will begin today evening at 4.15 pm in the “Kandhovali” ground، Funaadu ward، Fuvahmulah.
