G.Dh. Gahdhoo Police Station’s operation has led to the arrest of individuals who were practicing prostitution at the island.
Authorities arrested a 22 year old local male and a 20 year old local female – who police confirmed to be a married couple – along with a 21 year old Bangladesh international.
Police arrested the individuals after Gahdhoo police received intelligence report of a group of individuals practicing prostitution at an empty premises in the island. They were arrested on 21st July around 21:35hrs.
All three suspects were summoned to Gaaf Dhaal magistrate court – where the court had ruled to keep all three in remand for 15 days at location disclosed by Home Ministry for investigation.
The case is currently investigated by Gahdhoo Police Station in collaboration with Serious And Organized Crime Department.
