Mr. Ahmed Zuhoor, minister at President’s Office have said that the disposable income in the Maldives is increasing year by year and with that the living standards are improving as well.
Mr. Zuhoor also said that, number of people travelling abroad are increasing by 30% every year. Also, the amount of money spent on luxury goods are also increasing according to Zuhoor.
He said that, by looking at these things it is evident that the living standards of Maldivians is improving and the quality of life is improving as well.
Maldives has a high unemployment rate and if more youth join the work force it is possible that the living standards would improve even more.
Right now those who work has the burden of spending on those who are unemployed. If more people are employed, then a lot of money will be saved and the productivity of the country will also increase.
