STO have said that if any company requests, STO is always ready to help and STO wants to work closely with other companies.
The MD of STO, Ahmed Shaheer said that the main imports of STO like medicine, staple food and fuel are sold more as a service than as a profit-making venture. He said hence STO will try to supply to those who need it without any disruptions.
Shaheer said that since Fenaka is the largest utility company in Maldives, STO supplies fuel to Fenaka even though they are not able to pay bills in a timely manner. He said that the burden on STO is very little since Finance Ministry makes arrangements in such cases.
STO contributed a lot to boost the construction industry of Maldives. When the government came into office the construction industry was in decline. STO provides materials for construction companies as installment with a long repayment period.
STO is the largest trading company of Maldives and is the parent company of the most number of subsidiaries. STO provides a lot of services and contributes a lot to social services. They also give a high rate of return to the shareholders.
