Several expatriates at the immigration detention center in Hulhumale’ are being treated for food poisoning.
Maldives Immigration’s spokesperson confirmed to Sun that the expatriates were being treated for food poisoning at Hulhumae’ Hospital.
In a later post on X, Immigration said 17 expatriates were being treated at Hulhumale’ Hospital at present with their recovery as the top priority.
Maldives Police Service noted that the incident had been brought to their attention, and said officers were attending to the incident.
