Maldives welcomes one-millionth tourist of the year

The Maldives welcomed its one millionth tourist for the year on Saturday.
The one millionth tourist was an Indian tourist named Kajal Singh, who is Kajal's first time visiting the Maldives.
Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, along with senior officials from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) welcomed the one millionth tourist at a special ceremony held at Velana International Airport (VIA).
According to the Tourism Ministry, 4,533 tourists currently arrive in the Maldives daily. The top source markets are China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
The government aims to attract 2.5 million tourists this year.
