President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with An’golhitheemu Island Council, Women's Development Committee (WDC) and senior heads of institutions at the island to address grievances of residents. The meeting took place on Tuesday at the Secretariat of the Council.
At the meeting, the Council briefed the President on the most pressing issues. This included, the issue of harbour expansion, water and sanitation network, and expediting the work on the fitness and recreation centre of the island. The Council also appealed to expedite the work on the visitor’s centre and to commence the construction of the T-jetty, as well as the addition of a multi-purpose hall for the school. The Council further said that the issue of erosion was also a pressing issue.
Addressing the meeting, the President assured that the concerns raised would be addressed and solutions would be sought.
Cabinet Ministers accompanying the President provided updates on ongoing development projects in Angolhitheemu.
