President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that his government will ensure tourism opportunities are extended to every atoll in the Maldives.
The President made the statement in a post marking World Tourism Day, where he highlighted that the warmth and hospitality of Maldivians are recognized and appreciated worldwide. He said the government is committed to strengthening local island economies and advancing a sustainable tourism model.
“We are working to create a model that integrates development with sustainability,” President Muizzu stated.
According to the latest statistics, 1,594,616 tourists visited the Maldives by the end of this month, a 9.6 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
