Maldivian, the national airline, has announced a strategic partnership with German airline Hahnair, expanding its international distribution network.
Through the alliance, Maldivian flights are now available in all major Global Distribution Systems (GDS) under the Hahnair Technologies X1 code. This enables travel agents in 190 markets to seamlessly book and issue tickets using the insolvency-safe HR-169 ticket.
By joining Hahnair’s network of more than 350 partner airlines worldwide, Maldivian strengthens its global distribution capacity, making it easier for travelers to access flights to and within the Maldives.
“This partnership enhances convenience for passengers and ensures Maldivian flights are more widely accessible across international markets,” the airline said in a statement.
Hahnair specializes in distribution and ticketing solutions for airlines and travel agencies, connecting over 350 partner carriers to a global network of more than 100,000 travel agencies in 190 markets.

Maldivian currently operates a fleet of 26 aircraft, including one A320, one A330-200, eight Dash 8s, eleven DHC-6 Twin Otters, and five ATRs. The airline serves 17 domestic airports and international destinations such as India and China, alongside specialized seaplane services for tourist transport.
