The Parliament has publicized the financial declarations of all members of the incumbent parliamentary assembly, except for 12.
Article 68 of Parliament’s Standing Orders requires parliamentarians to submit their financial declarations on an annual basis, by August 31.
The financial declarations of many of the 93 members of the incumbent parliamentary assembly were uploaded to the Parliament’s website on Tuesday night.
However, the declarations of 12 parliamentarians are missing. This includes nine parliamentarians from the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC), two from the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), and one from the PNC-aligned Maldives National Party (MNP). They are:

Kinbidhoo MP Ali Ashrag (PNC)
Naifaru MP Yaseen Abdulla (PNC)
Kurendhoo MP Mohamed Shamin (PNC)
Kanditheemu MP Ameen Faisal (PNC)
Vaikaradhoo MP Hussain Ziyad (MDP)
Kendhoo MP Mauroof Zakir (MDP)
Dhidhdhoo MP Abdul Latheef Mohamed (PNC)
West Maafannu MP Mohamed Mustafa Ibrahim (PNC)
North Maafannu MP Mohamed Nazim (MNP)
Central Machangolhi MP Ahmed Zameer (PNC)
North Hulhumale’ MP Hussain Shareef (PNC)
The Parliament’s secretariat was not immediately available for comment regarding whether the 12 parliamentarians failed to submit their financial declarations as required, or if the information is missing from the website for some other reason.
Article 68 of Parliament’s Standing Orders requires parliamentarians to disclose the financial information not just of themselves, but also their spouses and any children under the age of 18. However, the declarations are publicized after excluding the information on the finances of spouses and children.
