Hussain Fahmee has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has announced.
The board confirmed that Fahmee has been appointed as both a board member and Managing Director of MWSC, with effect from today.
Fahmee brings decades of experience in the utilities sector, having served for 27 years at the State Electric Company (STELCO). He joined the company in 1988 as a trainee and rose through the ranks to hold senior positions, including General Manager.
In November, he was appointed Managing Director of STELCO, making him one of the longest-serving employees to lead the company.
Following his tenure at STELCO, Fahmee also served at the President’s Office. His appointment to MWSC marks a continuation of his leadership role within state-owned utility enterprises.
