Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has announced plans to introduce home nursing care services, allowing nurses and other healthcare professionals to visit patients in their homes to provide medical support and assistance.
As part of preparations for the service, IGMH has opened bidding for the supply of five motorcycles to be used by staff providing home‑based care and for other hospital‑related travel. The procurement request specifies two Honda Airblades and three Honda Scoopy motorcycles.
Although the service has been announced, IGMH has not yet provided a start date for home nursing operations.
According to the procurement notice, bidders must submit quotations inclusive of GST and in full compliance with the information provided. The winning bidder will be responsible for clearing the motorcycles, completing registration requirements, ensuring one‑year roadworthiness, and covering annual and insurance fees.
Bids will be accepted at 11:00 hrs on Wednesday at the Anthurium Meeting Hall of the IGMH Procurement Department. Bids will be opened in the presence of attendees, and late arrivals will not be allowed to submit.
The announcement comes amid ongoing public concern over long queues and delays in receiving treatment at the country’s main hospital.
