Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea pays a courtesy call on the Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem received a courtesy visit from H.E. Lee Jin-bok, the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea and Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs, on Wednesday.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office, the Vice President and the Special Envoy discussed important topics of importance to both parties, including the restoration of direct air connectivity between the two nations. Along with increasing cooperation on climate change, they also discussed about reaching sustainability goals and enhancing cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, trade, and investment.
Moreover, the Vice President and Special Envoy also addressed ways to cooperate on the Human Resource Development of Maldivian Health sector employees as a way to further strengthen bilateral ties. In addition, speaking further about healthcare collaboration, the Vice President appreciated the Republic of Korea’s administration for its kind assistance given to the Maldives during the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Maldives established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Korea on November 30, 1966.
