Central bank Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has launched local activities for the Global Money Week initiative.
The activities were launched on Monday morning at a ceremony held at the Iskandhar School in capital city Malé.
The activities include informative seminars, drawing contests, video programmes, and public forums. 
MMA governor Ahmed Naseer says that the activities will teach children concepts of income, financial management, and entrepreneurs. 
The Global Money Week spreads awareness on financial matters and is designed to inspire children and the youth. 
The initiative was launched in 2012 and is held annual in March.
