The Royal Jordanian airline has announced its plan of commencing scheduled charter flights to Maldives starting from September 2019 onwards.
The charter service is slated to commence from 27 September to 16 October, with Jordan’s flagship airline offering weekly non-stop flights between Queen Alia International Airport in Amman and Velana International Airport of Male’, Maldives.
The charter service will be operated with Royal Jordanian’s Boeing 787-8 jet.
Royal Jordanian founded in 1963 became the second largest carrier in the Levant with a fleet of 43 aircraft in its operations which includes Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jets. The Jordan based airline operates over 500 flights per week with at least 110 daily departures.
The airline reaches to a total of 43 destinations including its codeshare destinations.
Although the tourist market has not shown exponential growth jumps, the Middle-Eastern market remains one of the major emerging source markets when it comes to Maldivian tourism industry.
As per the figures of Maldives tourism ministry, a total of 52,114 holidaymakers from the region visited the country last year which is a 5.9% jump from over 49,193 tourists the year before.
Meanwhile the island nation has placed fresh impetus in promoting tourism in Middle East. Tourism stakeholders, both government and non-government included have exhibited the island nation’s tourism industry at key events at Saudi Arabia and other prominent Arab nations.
