Former MDP Chairperson and current Hulhu-Henveiru constituency member Reeko Moosa Manik has stated that arresting Nasheed is not an issue.
Former MDP Chairperson stated his opinion over social platform Twitter، in which he openly stated that arresting Nasheed holds no serious issue.
“[he] took actions against consent of law and constitution، we had constantly requested him not to go forth with it، but still he did” Moosa criticized، pointing at Chief Justice Abdullah Mohamed’s arrest during Nasheed’s regime.
Reeko Moosa Manik، who was recently removed from membership and Chairperson position of Maldives Democratic Party also added that، his seat in Parliament was not secured by influence of former President Mohamed Nasheed، but due to his credibility and support from the public from his area.
Court hearing of Mohamed Nasheed’s trial will proceed tomorrow at 16:00hrs in Criminal Court.
Apart from former President Mohamed Nasheed، Ibrahim Thol-hath، Defence Minister during Nasheed’s regime، current Defence minister and then Chief Of Defence Moosa Ali Jaleel and former Brigadier General and current mid-Hithadhoo constituency member Ibrahim Mohamed Didi along with Colonel Mohamed Ziyadh are being prosecuted with terrorism charges.
