Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that this year is the most successful year for the Islamic Ministry.
He made this remark speaking at the press conference held yesterday to brief the public on the achievements of the ministry so far.
Dr. Shaheem said that the year has been a very prosperous year for the country in religious affairs and many ties with other Islamic countries have been established and strengthened.
He also said that many financial contributions have been also granted by foreign Islamic countries and organizations for Islamic affairs of Maldives.
“It is an year where many have finished memorizing the Quran. Quran memorizers were given the first national level awards by the President,” he said.
Dr. Shaheem said that President Abdulla Yameen’s first year has been very successful and prosperous for the Islamic sphere of Maldives.
He expressed gratitude for the President for his efforts and guidance to foster the correct Islamic education and awareness in Maldives.
In addition to this, he said that Ministry has held many programs to preserve the Islamic unity of Maldives.
