Opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has stated that the party will take measures against members voting against the party line in the Peoples Majlis.
Speaking to the press, MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed said that all parliamentarians of the party should uphold the whip-lines issued by the party inside the parliament, and added that the leader of the Parliamentary Group (PG) had already agreed on the issue.
Ali Waheed said that the party are now discussing the matter with “Reeko” Moosa Manik for voting against the party whip line.
Ali Waheed did not specify or give details on what measures will be taken by the MDP if any of the members vote against the party line.
Moosa Manik voted against the Majlis on Wednesday’s session of the Peoples’ Majlis. Moosa Manik also voted to reduce the number of judges in the Supreme court bench.
