Islamic New Year will start in both Saudi Arabia and Maldives on Sunday

The Islamic New Year will begin in both Maldives and Saudi Arabia on Sunday the 2nd of October which will be 1st of Muharram 1438.
The media coordinator of Islamic Ministry Mohammed Musthafa said that this happened because the calendar of Saudi Arabia and Maldives matched.
Since Islamic New Year is a holiday on Maldives, this Sunday will be an official holiday.
Islamic New Year is marked starting from the year Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) migrated from Mecca to Medina. Hijree calendar was first made by the 2nd rightly guided caliph Umar (RAW).
