Swimmers from Maldives and Sri Lanka swims to mark international day for people with disabilities

Maldivian and Sri Lankan swimmers has swam today to mark the international day for people with disabilities.
Swimmers from Maldivian national swimming team took part in the events while, disabled soldiers from the Sri Lankan army, Para Swimming Champions participated on behalf of Lanka.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, the attorney General Muhammad Anil thanked everyone who provides assistance to people with disabilities. Anil said that previously kids who had the slightest disabilities were confined to their rooms but now they are able to go out into the society.
BML donated kickboards and some other gears to participants of todays events. After receiving the gifts some kids with disabilities proudly explained about their disabilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Gender Minister Zenisha Shaheed Zaki said that all disabled children has special abilities. She said that the government will prioritize developing these skills. She said that participating children with disabilities in various activities will develop the nation.
Zenisha thanked everyone who helped to carry out the event today. She especially thanked the Sri Lankan High Commission for their help.
